Video features a Sweed Wire Chopping System that has been integrated into an existing line (from another manufacturer). The upgraded Sweed system increased customers throughput and capabilities. This line runs various materials including #1 high yield to #2 low yield, BX and tech cable (separating aluminum and copper in one pass). They were originally averaging 1000-1200 pounds per hour (and not capable of separating Cu/Al at the same time), after the upgrade they run 3k-6k per hour (depending on material), as high as 8k per hour, and can process Cu/Al at the same time. The system does not recirculate material – it is all processed in one pass. Sweed’s specialized wire and cable recycling systems provide linear and bulk scrap solutions for copper, aluminum, and steel recovery. Sweed systems are capable of processing from 500 up to 12,000+ pounds per hour, and efficiently separate all types of wire from power transmission to communication cable, ASR, ACR, ACSR, BX Cable, wire harness and more. In addition to wire and cable separation systems, Sweed also offers cable strippers, alligator shears and scrap choppers for a variety of scrap applications.
