There are some actors who simply don’t need many lines to showcase their talent; and some of these stars that won Oscars for less than 20 minutes of screen time prove it. The Oscars are the film industry’s most exclusive awards. While many stars only dream of holding one, some actors find themselves rewarded for small scenes in full feature films. Though some movies prove to be less than worthy of the Oscar nomination, some moments are just too good to pass up. After starring for 18 minutes in Shampoo, Lee Grant would finally take home an Oscar for her minimal role. Even surpassing the likes of Robert De Niro and Robin Williams. Anthony Hopkins won an Oscar after his electric 16-minute showcase in the iconic film, The Silence of the Lambs.
Anne Hathaway’s supporting role in Les Miserables would also land her an Oscar, following her 15 minutes of screen time. It might not have been her acting that sold her, but her dedication to the character, losing 25lbs and even cutting all her hair off. Stacking up to Hathaway’s 15 minutes of screen-time, Kim Basinger in L.A. Confidential won a best supporting actress.
