Winter storm Jaden is on its way down from Alberta Canada with moderate to heavy snow expected across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Snow accumulations look to arrange most across central Wisconsin with 8 to 14 inches of snow possible with more and likely 6 to 12 inches of snow. The biggest impact with this winter storm will be lots of snow that moves across the northern plains and the Great Lakes with strong winds developing rapidly behind the cold front. Winds from the north west could gust 40 to 50 miles an hour with peak gusts 55 to 65 miles an hour. The areas that see fresh snow with gusty winds will lead to blowing and drifting snow which could lead to white out conditions. Another component with this winter storm will be the possibility of an area of freezing rain and sleet which could cause hazardous travel conditions on roadways. It only takes about a tenth of an inch of ice to cause some spin outs and accidents. There could be power outages as strong winds could blow down trees also with some weight on trees some branches could break. Much more details in the video.
