Rangers fans slam Steven Gerrard for tactical decisions after Kilmarnock defeat

Steven Gerrard saw his side suffer a 2-1 defeat to Kilmarnock.  New signing Jermain Defoe scored 12 minutes into his debut but the home side came back into the game.  This saw Rangers lose ground on Scottish Premiership leaders and rivals Celtic. And the manager said in his post-match interview that the defeat was their own fault.  Speaking on the club’s official Twitter channel, he said: “The gifts changed the game.  “There were two big moments against us tonight and they were from our doing.  “I don’t think Kilmarnock were worrying us in terms of open play, they weren’t cutting us open or creating.  “They were just sitting there waiting for the counter attack.”    And the 38-year-old went on to say: “We’ve got ourselves to blame for this defeat.  “We’re on the back of a lot of praise from three weeks ago for out performance.  “There was a lot of praise and rightly so.   “But tonight there were not many out there who have done themselves justice.” But the Ibrox faithful slammed the manager for his tactical decisions.  Gerrard played a 4-1-4-1 in the Old Firm derby but switched to a 4-3-3 for tonight’s game. And the fans were furious at this change.  “Why would you change a winning formula,” one supporter said.  Another commented: “He has a lot to learn about tactics.” While a third simply said: “How can he get it so wrong.” This comes as fans were convinced the Liverpool legend gave a massive title hint earlier this week.
