** Video Information **
This patient is a professional woman in her 50's who injured the nail over two years ago and it began to grow like this. it was difficult to cut and then, as it became longer, she became too embarrassed to let anyone see it. It was now rubbing against the toe next to it and was painful in shoes. Not all thick nails are caused by fungus. This was from an injury (trauma). It was not at all painful to cut. At the end I smooth it with a Dremel tool.
If you look closely, you can see black dog hair and black sock fuzz under the nail! Her dog with the short black hair passed away over a year ago!
