Pipistrel Virus SW 912iS - Substantial Fuel Leak Rotax iS Fuel Pump - CASA Investigating - SEE TEXT

The latest test flights of Pipistrel Virus SW 912iS "Artemis" (see my previous video on this channel) are being undertaken following replacement of the fuel pump assembly (containing main and AUX fuel pumps). The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) of Australia is investigating the cause and circumstances of the spontaneous fuel leakage from the original unit, including design factors in this newly built and delivered aircraft from Pipistrel d.o.o., Slovenia. A formal defect notice (DR #611852815) has been filed by me on the CASA portal. I am currently awaiting the results of CASA's investigation. As an owner-pilot, it has been an unexpected but valuable learning experience and one that, I believe, is in the Public interest, aimed at optimising design and safety in this field (hence CASA's involvement).
