Robot Farmer Will Be Able To Work 20 Hours a Day

Robot Farmer Will Be Able To Work 20 Hours a Day Fieldwork Robotics, a University of Plymouth spin-out company, is developing an autonomous harvesting robot platform. A number of flexible robot arms attached to the platform will be able to pick raspberries, tomatoes, and other crops without squeezing them out or destroying the plant.

We interviewed the director of Fieldwork Robotics and University of Plymouth robotics lecturer, Dr. Martin Stoelen, to find out how his platform operates and when will robot farmers take over the industry. According to Dr. Stoelen, the robot will be able to farm 20 hours a day and harvest tens of thousands of raspberries per day.
