State government has decided to hand over Sonsodo garbage dump to Goa Waste Management Corporation following the willingness shown by Fomento Company to exit their operations at Sonsodo. After the high level meeting on Sonsodo which was chaired by CM Sawant, Deputy CM Vijai Sardesai, MLA Alex Reginald and other officials, it has been decided that govt will start working on a new system in next 3-4 months to treat the existing garbage at Sonsodo.
