In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, Pete & Pedro , and Ollie says he’s 42 and started working out in his basement at 12. Working out & body building has been his passion his whole life. He was certified as an ACE trainer 22 years ago as well as he started competing in body building competitions and opened a nutrition store. Back then, the Internet wasn’t around — it was all in books and magazines. A lot of it was ‘bro science’ because you learned from those who have been-there-done-that. Things have changed, and as a result, so have workout tips.

1. Using the suicide grip when performing bench press – instead wrap your thumb
2. Lifting legs & cross — don’t lift legs and cross if you want to bench press for strength
3. Performing behind the neck shoulder press — the risk doesn’t necessarily outweigh the benefits
4. Doing upright rows — if your shoulders are the least bit unhealthy, it’s not an optimal exercise
