This Will Have A Chilling Effect: GOP-Backed Bill In Tenn. 'Criminalizes' Voter Registration Drives

Republicans in Tennessee are trying to make it more difficult for organizations to register voters.

A bill sponsored by the Secretary of State, Tre Haggart, would virtually criminalize voter registration drives. The legislation would require groups leading voter registration efforts to undergo training and potentially face fines for submitting too many incomplete forms.
