Benny Bunting, Making Sure Farmers Have the Right to Survive Benny Bunting counsels between 75 and 100 farmers each year as the farm advocate at RAFI-USA, devoting an average of 60 hours to each client. Ninety percent of the farmers he works with have realized their goals. In addition to his advocacy, he farms today with his son near Oak City, North Carolina.

This clip is taken from Farm Aid's documentary film, “Homeplace Under Fire,” which tells the story of the grassroots work of American farm advocates and their thirty-year fight to keep family farmers on the land.

Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.
