The Weather Channel's Local on the 8's Throughout The Years

The Weather Channel's Local on the 8's Throughout The Years The Weather Channel has been on people's cable and satellite services since May of 1982, and continues on, despite DirecTV dropping it because of price negotiations in 2014 for a while. One of it's staples was the Local Forecasts, later known as the Local on the 8s, which either sends you the short term forecasts for the major US cities or a personal local area forecasts with additional information, depending on the cable or satellite's systems. This video contains a local forecast from each year, from the earliest archived to the most recent this year, covering several systems used by cable and satellite providers and TWC. Watch as we went from a simple screen with machine text to easy graphics, legible text, and understandable information. Videos thanks to The Weather Channel Classics and various Youtubers.
