The Weather Channel has been on people's cable and satellite services since May of 1982, and continues on, despite DirecTV dropping it because of price negotiations in 2014 for a while. One of it's staples was the Local Forecasts, later known as the Local on the 8s, which either sends you the short term forecasts for the major US cities or a personal local area forecasts with additional information, depending on the cable or satellite's systems. This video contains a local forecast from each year, from the earliest archived to the most recent this year, covering several systems used by cable and satellite providers and TWC.
