This example can be solved by understanding the Relationship between Zeroes and Coefficients of a Polynomial.


If α and β are the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial
p(x) = ax² + bx + c, a ≠ 0

Then,

Sum of Zeroes, α + β = –b/a,

Product of Zeroes, αβ = c/a

Example 3): Find the zeroes of the polynomial x² – 3 and verify the relationship between the zeroes and the coefficients.
