Meet the canine braves who secure roads for troop movement in J&K

The dogs of the canine squad patrol key highways in J&K looking for explosive devices hidden by terrorists. Each dog patrols 3-5 km stretch of NH 44 thrice a day. The dog squad of the CRPF has detected 26 IED devices planted along the roads in a decade, avoiding many tragedies. The dogs are used to detect explosive devices ahead of the troop movement in Jammu and Kashmir. There are more than 45 dogs manning the 135 km stretch on National Highway 44.
