A petition has been filed in Chennai High Court against converting Chinna Thambi into a Kumki elephant. At the same time, many people fear that if he is not tamed, he might be a risk to himself and those around him.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Government told the High Court that there was no plan to change the wild Chinna Thambi into a tamed tusker.
Officials are trying to move him into forest again and have given him water and sugarcane for nutrition. To prevent a disaster, police officials are continuously informing locals about his movement via loudspeakers.
