A mum had to evacuate her home and call emergency services after she created a poisonous gas cloud while attempting to unblock her toilet.  Dominique Heath accidentally filled her home with deadly chlorine gas - which was used as a chemical weapon in wars - after using two ordinary household products hours apart.  It was when the mum-of-three's throat and eyes started to feel as if they were burning and fumes filled the air that she realised something was very wrong and rang the fire brigade.  They ordered her to evacuate her home immediately and cordoned off part of her street in Nailsea, Somerset, reports Bristol Live. Man buys entire family DNA tests for Christmas - and there are some shocking results  Fire fighters wore breathing apparatuses as they went into the house to ventilate it, and wash away the chemicals to make it safe.  Dominique, who wants to warn others of the dangers how easy it is to cause a major chemical incident, had used two bottles of ‘One Shot’ toilet unblocker.  Hours later she then poured bleach down the toilet, which she she thinks one of her young children blocked by putting too much toilet paper or a toy down there.  “I put the kids to bed at 8pm, ran a bath, then looked in the toilet and it was still blocked so I thought ‘I’m not getting into the bath like this’," she said.  "I’ll put my three-litre tub of bleach down there, that should do it."  But the bleach mixed with the toilet unblocker still in there causing a chemical reaction and released huge quantities of chlorine gas. Family tribute to 'most incredible' footballer who died in car crash  “I have never experienced fumes like it,” Dominique said. “My throat and eyes feel burned.”  Dominique quickly shut the bathroom door and opened the windows around the house.  However, the chlorine gas began to spread and she sought help from a neighbour and rang the fire brigade, who instantly realised how serious the situation was.  The family didn’t get back to bed and sleep until 5am the following morning.  Dominique posted the story on Facebook and shared her embarrassment at having to call out the firefighters, but said she wanted to share her story as a warning to others not to do the same.  While the reaction from her friends was one of concern - and a degree of humour - the incident could have been very serious, and many commented that they also had no idea that mixing two normal household materials could effectively create a poisonous gas cloud.  “It was really serious,” she said. “We are all ok, but it was the dumbest thing I have ever done - please don’t do this!” Top news stories from Mirror Online
