UPDATE: Suspect Held For The K!lling Of Security Guard/JBN
The police are reporting that they have apprehended a prime suspect in relation to the dramatic shooting de@th of the KingAlarm security guard at the business outlet in Portmore, St Catherine on December 6.
Senior Superintendent Clive Blair said, “A major suspect in the case was held on Saturday morning during an operation in Old Harbour, and he is now in custody and is being questioned.”
Last week the police said they were a step closer to apprehending the criminals who carried out the brazen daylight attack in the Sunshine City.
Detectives said they had collected video footage which captured the images of the men while they were carrying out the attack on the KingAlarm security officer.
A police source said, “Based on footage that was captured, authorities will be using this evidence in their manhunt for the perpetrators.
A four-minute video captured on CCTV showed two men entering the facility where the guard was working.
The men were seen waiting until all the customers had left the business outlet, after which they accosted the security guard.
The video showed that one of the eventual attackers had even borrowed a pen from the security guard to sign a document, seemingly in an attempt to hide his true intention.
The footage showed that as the men were about to carry out the attack, two customers were entering the facility. In response, one of the attackers pushed the customers outside the door and attempted to close the door.
The guard saw what was happening and moved towards the door.
One of the attackers, who was later seen holding on to the guard with one hand, with a gun in his (the attacker’s) other hand, then pulled the guard outside the establishment and shot him.
The men then ran from the scene.
The shooting sent large numbers of onlookers scampering for safety.
