UK Prime Minister Theresa May walked out without responding after Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn tabled a motion of no confidence in her leadership in the House of Commons on Monday.
After saying that it was "very bad" and "unacceptable" that parliament was being forced to wait "almost a month" before being able to vote on the prime ministers Brexit withdrawal agreement, Corbyn announced that he was tabling "a motion which says the following that this House has no confidence in the prime minister due, due to her failure to allow the House of Commons to have a meaningful vote straightaway on the withdrawal agreement."
As the motion is directed personally at Theresa May rather than the government as a whole, even if it were successful it would not necessarily result in May's resignation or a general election being called.
