For last-minute PC shoppers that missed Black Friday deals, the good news is there’s still time to buy yourself a PC for Christmas. If you don’t have enough time to build your own, you can get some great deals on a pre-built PC, even after the big sales have come and gone. Often the big box stores like Best Buy will work with PC manufacturers to sell a few specific systems. If you’re not too picky on exact specifications these might be for you. The specs are usually pretty good for most use cases, and the prices are much better this time of year because they sell lots of them.
On the other hand, if you’re dead set on particular specs, you might want to go to the manufacturers website. Dell, HP, and others run some great holiday promotions that let you customize some of their models with extra RAM, a bigger hard-drive, or CPU upgrades. It’s more of a “I design it, you build/ship/warranty it for me” approach. And usually this time of year they can build, ship, and have it to your door in just a few days!
For actual DIYers that want to hand-pick every part and put together the exact RAM/CPU/case combo then this is literally Christmas for you. This time of year manufacturers tend to have their biggest discounts so they can finish the year strong on the sales side. They’ll work with different e-tailers like Amazon and Newegg to run daily promotions for specific products. These will change every day between now and the end of the year. If you stay vigilant, you can often get great deals on all the hardware you need, maybe even a 1080TI card!?! Thanks to Nvidia for releasing brand new cards right before the holidays. If searching for daily deals isn’t your thing, try sites like Slickdeals where tons of other users scour the net to find the best possible prices every day. Just type in what you’re looking for and see what comes up!
