LIVE: Students take to the streets of Paris to protest against new education fees

High school and university students are gathering on the streets of Paris on Tuesday, December 11, to protest against the French government’s recent announcement that registration fees would be increased for non-EU students.
The students’ protests intensified last week and come amid an ongoing wave of violent demonstrations in France, which were initially called in response to French President Emmanuel Macron's announcement of fuel tax hikes. Since then they have evolved into an expression of general anger at high costs of living, poverty and inequality in France.
