France: Macron's measures are 'crumbs for the people' - man who inspired 'Yellow Vests'

When Ghislain Coutard posted a video on Facebook suggesting protesters to wear a yellow safety vest as a symbol of solidarity, little did he know that he would become the inspiration for what is now known as the 'Yellow Vests' movement.
Coutard spoke to RT from in Narbonne on Monday, in the very same van where he recorded his viral video since viewed five million times.
A mechanic and local spokesperson for the movement, Coutard believes that French President Emmanuel Macron's measures will not satisfy the Yellow Vests.
"These are crumbs for the people. These measures will affect only a small part of the French, not everyone will benefit from what he announced."
He argued that the government should consider reintroducing a wealth tax to find a way out of the ongoing crisis. "If he wanted to set an example [he should have] reinstated the wealth tax. I think that this could quickly lead to agreement."
In an address to the nation on Monday, Macron sought to restore control of the country after six weeks of increasingly violent protests across France, pledging immediate relief measures aimed at low-paid workers and pensioners.
