Americans Boost Sales Growth For Apparel Sales

According to Business Insider, apparel sales grew by 7.9% between November 1 and December 24, which is the best growth rate since 2010. The sales boom is being driven by three factors - shoppers spending more on themselves, the cold weather driving more winter purchases, and retailers maintaining better inventory levels. A survey of 2,000 consumers' spending and purchases found that 68% of people spent more on clothing for themselves this holiday season than they did over the same period last year. Boosts in apparel spending signify that consumers are confident in the economy and are prepared to spend money on more frivolous purchases.
