A Substitute Teacher In Louisiana Allegedly Had Sex With A 16-Year-Old Student During A Pep Rally

A substitute teacher in Louisiana allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old student during a pep rally — and the teen recorded the illicit encounter to later share it with his classmates, police said.
Constance Robertson, a 25-year-old teacher at Port Barre High School, was arrested Monday on charges of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile after the 10th-grade victim showed classmates video footage of the alleged tryst during a pep rally on Oct. 5, KADN reports.
Robertson and the student had earlier agreed to meet in her classroom during the rally. Robertson, who has worked in the district since May 2017, said she thought the boy was 18 at the time, Port Barre Police Chief Deon Boudreaux told the station.
St. Landry Parish Schools officials learned of the allegations Thursday and have since relieved Robertson of her duties as a substitute. More evidence was later recovered on her phone — leading to her arrest — but police did not elaborate on what was found.
District officials told KATC in a statement that there are no previously reported incidents involving Robertson.
“We are currently working with law enforcement as it pertains to this incident and are unable to comment further as this is a personal matter and is under investigation,” the statement read.
Boudreaux did not immediately return a message seeking additional comment Tuesday.
