#18: Building a Successful Streetwear Fashion Brand w/ Blake Ricciardi

In this episode, Brad sits down to speak with a successful BrandBuildr from across the pond in the USA.
Meet Blake Ricciardi, CEO & Founder of Lifestyle Streetwear Brand Popular Demand.
What started out as a a brand selling T-shirts, Popular Demand has grew into a successful lifestyle brand that represents the culture of those that understand streetwear fashion.
Blake and his team have teamed up with many influential and recognisable faces of today's culture in street. All you have to do is check their social pages on Insta to be welcomed to collabs with Cardi B, Dave East, Sage the Gemini, Ty Dolla Sign, Rae Sremmurd, and many more.
In this interview, we wanted to understand from Blake after having some skin in the game and seeing a lot of changes in how we market our brands today back to when he started, what he has noticed to be the key denominators for building a successful streetwear brand over the years.
With so many new clothing startups popping up daily, we wanted to identify what separates the good from the bad.
Blake confirmed there are deeper roots to streetwear that all have to be accounted for and that many think it's one of the easier brands to start, whereas he thinks it is one of the hardest - mainly due to saturation and noise in the industry.
A great conversion and lots of pointers involved in helping you clarify if you are ticking all the boxes whilst also hearing about the story to how Blake got into this space in the first place, starting out with nothing but a bit of ambition and a few dollars left in his bank account.
Nothing better than a true bred entrepreneurial story. Can you relate?
